In parallelo con l'attività di "esecutore" di materiale altrui, Gabriele ha svolto un'intensa opera compositiva, l'evoluzione della quale, ha riflesso, quasi come in uno specchio, il suo cammino esistenziale ed artistico. Si tratta di canzoni, ma anche di suite per combo, e brani strumentali, che abbracciano un periodo di circa vent'anni, costellato di lunghi silenzi alternati a momenti di intensa creatività. Parte di questo lavoro è passato dalla pagina scritta alla registrazione audio, per la cui realizzazione è stato fondamentale l'aiuto di tanti amici che hanno prestato il loro talento e la loro competenza: artisti che hanno dato forma fisica alle sue idee. Questo sforzo, motivato unicamente da un comune sentire umano e musicale, ha prodotto una lunga serie di lavori di cui ne presentiamo un piccolo, ma speriamo significativo, esempio.
